Even though it's midterms week, and I'm really, really busy, I've had an excellent few days. Here's why:
+ I got my camera batteries in the mail today (thanks, Mu)!
+ My hours at the library were upped from 5/week to 10/week... better yet, the extra 5 will be Saturdays, meaning I get paid extra.
+ I grabbed a couple huge pieces of plywood from the scrap bin in the print studio. One is 18.5"x25" and the other is roughly 22"x25". Both completely free (almost makes up for the $85 of printing paper I just ordered online).
+ It's my birthday on Thursday. I'll be 20.
+ Red Sox. Yesss!
And now, a photo:
We just had the weirdest thunderstorm! It came and went quickly, but not without giving us a short blackout and a yard full of hail. I don't have pictures.
Instead, here's a picture of what used to be the junior high baseball field, and is now a lovely diamond-shaped flowerbed (photo taken a couple weeks ago):
A while back, I went to a student show at MECA that featured senior students from all majors. There was a lot of great stuff there, but there was one piece that really made an impression... because I took it home with me. Let me now introduce Unidentified Tomato Plant, planted in an interactive and highly instructional display:
So sorry for the paucity of updates lately! I haven't been taking many photos, mostly because there's not much new in my life right now... the arrival of spring should change that. But! April decided to play a little trick on us this week with the worst storm of the year. We were starting to get flowers and everything!
Show us your pets.

Gladly! Here's Ruffles again... from a different angle this time.
Of course, I'm not allowed pets here at Bennington. This is about the closest I've got:
The Upstairs Cafe, better known as the "Upcaf," used to be one of the main common spaces on campus. Along with the snack bar in Commons, it was the only place to serve food, and it was also a popular setting for open mic and acoustic performances. It's also one of two spaces on campus with cable TV, and was open from 8 PM until 2 AM every day of the week.
With the opening of the Moonbase (and, we hope, the Moonbase's kitchen) right next door, the Upcaf is being repurposed as sort of... general space. Already, its famous smoothies and nachos have been moved to the Snack Bar (which doesn't do them nearly so well). It's in transition right now, open some nights and not others, with the potential of becoming 24-hour common space once all the bar-type stuff is moved to Moonbase.
All that preamble, for... the corner of a building! Here it is:
I'm going home for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Real food, here I come!
