This is the inside of a wing of the Barn at night, as seen from outside room 100 (a tiny little "lecture hall" where I had my psych class this fall). The floorboards are, as you can probably tell from the photo, a tad creaky. The nearest bathroom is around the corner at the end of this hall. So whenever got up from class (or just walked by) we could hear them walking allll the way down the hall. And then, allll the way back. The second floor is even creakier!
Oh, and as a followup to my library post, here's one of my favorite websites: LibraryThing
This is a photo of the crowd that gathered for Wednesday's Project Runway finale, taken from my seat on the windowsill. The recent double billing of Lost and PR has been a total madhouse now that there is only one TV available on the entire Bennington College campus. What you can't see here is all the people sitting to my left, or on the floor, or near the snackbar off the right corner.
My favorite piece of graffiti ever!
It's located at the bottom of this awesome staircase in VAPA:
Also, I've started importing videos and music, which you may see in the sidebar over there. ---> These represent the films I've seen and concerts I've been to since coming here, in case you were wondering.
Literally, the chairs. The seating around here is pretty random: all the houses have different furniture, mostly in single pieces instead of sets. The classrooms in the Barn mostly have weird plastic chair-desks (which they use because they were a gift), except for the ones that don't. The other classroom spaces are even more random. The student center will supposedly have locally-made wooden benches (but no TV... that's a rant for another day, I'm afraid). Here are some of the chairs I haven't mentioned.
There are green Adirondack chairs all over Commons Lawn. Here are three at the rock wall known as the End of the World.
This chair is sitting under a tree by Commons. It goes on the porch/patio with its brethren, but I like it better under this tree.
These chairs are shiny aluminum! Not the most comfortable things in the world, but they're amazingly light and I like them a lot. There are also armchairs and sofas in this room.
