Today is Blog Action Day! Take action by posting about the environment in your own way
I don't have anything prepared specifically for Blog Action Day -- if you follow East of the Sun, you probably already know my feelings on the environment -- but I wanted to make sure to take advantage of the chance to advocate for one of my favorite causes.
I can't say I have any recent photos that fit the theme, so here are some from a beach trip this summer:
My mother, hidden somewhere in this photo, has recently created a Vox account. She hasn't posted anything yet, but I'm linking there in an effort to guilt her into doing so.
Show us something you can't live without.

The ocean! I'm living without it right now, actually, and it's weird. The air smells different, less salty. There are no seagulls for miles. One of the few things I do NOT love about Vermont is its incurable inlanditude. The photo I've posted here was taken last summer. It's the view from Five Islands Lobsterhouse in Georgetown, ME. (I don't eat lobster, but I love this place for so many other reasons, that doesn't even matter).
Also, my family! It's family weekend here, and I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my parents and my brother (who also happen to read this -- hi, guys!). It's just too bad they couldn't bring the Maine coast with them.
